Wire A Cassette Player

Although cassettes have been almost entirely replaced by CD's and other audio formats such as MP3's, there is still a need to listen to music contained on them from owners' collections. Wiring a cassette player to your existing home theater setup does not require any electronics expertise. By connecting the power and RCA cables properly to a receiver, you can begin recording and listening to audio content. With the right instruction, you can make these connections in under two minutes.

Instructions

1. Plug the included AC power cable into the cassette player's AC jack, which is located on the back of the unit, then plug the other end into an available AC wall outlet. Some models come with the AC power cable attached, so you don't need to connect them to the back of the device.

2. Plug one end of a RCA cable into the Rec (In) jack on the back of the player, and the other end into your receiver's Tape Rec (Out) jacks. The white RCA cable plugs into the white (left) jack, whereas the red cable plugs go into the red (right) jack.

3. Plug one end of the other RCA cable into the cassette player's Rec (Out) jack, then into the receiver's Tape Play In jacks. The white RCA cable plugs into the white (left) jack, and the red) cable should go into the red (right) jack. Your cassette player is now wired correctly, and ready to use. .
