Stop Sinus Pain Pressure And Congestion

3. Ease congestion with a wet towel. Run a hand towel under hot or warm water, and apply the compress to your face to open up your nasal passage and get rid of congestion. Keep the towel on your face until it cools off.


4. Drink liquids. Water, decaf tea, broth and soup help thin thick mucus in your nose, head and sinuses. Drain and loosen mucus by consuming plenty of liquids throughout the day.


5. Stop pain with medication. Ibuprofen and aspirin are effective remedies for sinus headaches and sinus pressure. Take a pain medication along with a decongestant--as long as the decongestant doesn't feature a pain reliever. Carefully read medication labels before use.


6. Use steam. Relax in a sauna or turn on the shower and let the steam from the hot water drain congestion and relieve sinus pressure.
