Cook Chicken In Chicken Broth

Chicken cooked in broth

Chicken broth is made by boiling chicken parts in water until it has partially evaporated, leaving a broth with a highly concentrated chicken flavor. The broth can then be used for a number of dishes. One use for chicken broth is to cook more chicken, intensifying the flavor. You will most often cook chicken in chicken broth to create soups, though the meat can be boiled and eaten with other dishes as well.

Instructions

1. Put the chicken broth into a saucepan. The broth can be fresh, canned or previously frozen (having been allowed to thaw).

2. Put the saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the broth to come to a low boil.

3. Put chicken pieces into the broth. If you are cooking an entire chicken, it must be cut up first. If you are cooking pieces of chicken for soup, cut them into bite-size pieces.

4. Cover the saucepan and cook the chicken for 20 minutes.

5. Remove a piece of chicken and cut it open to test how well it is done. It should be white all the way through, with no pink showing. If it is not done, continue cooking the chicken for five to 10 minutes at a time.
