Barbecue Sauce Made With A1 Steak Sauce

The thrill of the grill.

A1 Steak Sauce is a Kraft Foods product, made of tomato puree, raisin paste, orange puree, garlic, onions and spices -- along with colors and preservatives. This popular meat condiment has been successfully employed as an ingredient in barbecue sauces.

Cola Sauce

Barbecue sauces made with cola drinks are popular recipes using A1. Cooked in a non-reactive saucepan, the ingredients are -- roughly speaking, BBQ sauce recipes are an art not a science -- a cup of cola, a cup of ketchup, a quarter-cup of Worcestershire sauce, 3 tablespoons of the A1, salt, garlic, black pepper and onions. The cola sauces keep for months when they are refrigerated.

Super Sweet Sauce

Honey Barbecue sauces using A1 typically use honey, of course, and A1 Sauce. A cup of honey, a quarter-cup of A1, brown sugar, ketchup, cinnamon, and black pepper make this one tangy and super sweet. These are popular barbecue dipping sauces.

The Doctor's Sauce

Dr. Pepper barbecue sauces are a deep South specialty. A couple of tablespoons of the A1 is all you will need for these. A whole cup of Dr. Pepper is then combined with the juice of a lemon, 3/4 cup of ketchup, 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and a shot of vinegar.
