Juice A Pomegrante

Juice pomegranates at home for a healthy beverage.

Instead of buying pomegranate juice, you can make your own fresh juice at home. Fresh pomegranate juice does not contain preservatives and added sugars, which makes it a healthier alternative. Pomegranates contain small red seeds inside known as arils. These seeds contain juice that you can extract. Placing the pomegranate seeds into a juicer will ensure that you extract as much of the juice as possible from the seeds. The juice is high in antioxidants, which helps to strengthen your immune system.

Instructions

1. Cut off the top crown off a pomegranate.

2. Slice the fruit in half along one of the white membranes.

3. Pull on the sections to separate them from one another. Place the separated sections into a bowl.

4. Fill the bowl with cool water. Pull the seeds away from the rind with your hands. The seeds will float to the top of the water.

5. Discard the pomegranate rinds, then pour the water and the seeds into a colander.

6. Add the pomegranate seeds into your juicer. Follow the directions that come with the juicer to ensure that you use it properly. The juice will need to be strained through cheesecloth if your juicer does not strain.
