Looking for good co2 and explosive gas detector

Looking for good CO2 and explosive gas detector

I have currently two Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawks. During the last days both went off indepently at some point. But looking at online reviews I think it was just a false alarm. Are there any good alarms like that on the market? As far as residential grade standalone units, the Kidde units are about as good as they really get. When you go into alarm system connected units, companies like Marcuro and System Sensor do make better ones, but they _are_ significantly more expensive. The trick with CO detectors is that you must accept the fact that the sensing mechanism has a finite lifespan, and will typically need to be replaced every 5 years or so. Sorry, I should have specified that I get false GAS alarms. Looking at some reviews it appears to be a common issue. Do you have gas appliances in your home? If so, have you asked the gas company to come out and check them and all pipes into and around the house? Bud I do have has appliances. I did not call the gas company yet as I did not smell anything. Also, when I reset the gas alarm I did not re-trigger. I thought if there is gas, the gas alarm would trigger again. are there any good gas detector tools at hardware stores/big box stores? First I'm not a pro on gas levels, but I do need to measure them in my work, so I have a meter. One of the issues that I run into is being able to detect lower levels of gas than what the gas company deems a problem. My opinion is still that tanks and supply lines shouldn't leak and if I can detect it they should fix it. If you have a leak of any size it would be to your peace of mind to locate it and fix it. One of the characteristics of gas is that it gets diluted quickly. the farther from the source the lower the reading. Unless it finds a spot to accumulate. Just tell them what you have told us and see what they suggest. Despite our difference in opinions, I have always found them very helpful. Bud The sensing mechanism in combustible gas detectors is very similar to the CO detector element, which is why they are frequently combined. They also have the same weaknesses. If you think you may have a minor combustible gas leak, seriously, you _should_ call your local gas provider and have them walk through your place with their dedicated and far more accurate combustible gas tool. Most gas providers will do this for either free or for a fairly nominal fee. Don't cheap out on this. Small fuel gas leaks can be very dangerous... What about portable gas detectors. For example the Solaris Multigas Detector is an economical, 4-gas instrument providing simultaneous detection of CO, O2, H2S and combustible gas. However, it depends what are your specific needs. My Kidde gives more and more false alarms. I had the gas company come out to double-check. It sounds like my choices are: - First Alert - Replace with the same Kidde - Safety Siren Pro Series Combination Gas Detector I'm not sure if the First Alert is any better than the Kidde. Based on the reviews it could be actually the same model in a different skin. Does anyone know more about the Safety Siren?
