babyGap models are selected from all around the country.
Gap and its affiliate companies (which include GapKids, babyGap and gapbody) do not hire models directly. They utilize modeling and talent agencies nearly exclusively. Further, Gap does not provide agency recommendations, referrals, or contact information. Thus, it is very difficult to identify which agencies work with Gap. But Gap has photo shoots for babies and children in various parts of the country, so they may use modeling agencies in your area.
Instructions
1. Make sure that your baby is within the age range for babyGap models. Baby models must be between 8 and 13 months.
2. Dress your baby in Gap clothing and take pictures. Try several different outfits. If you are not proficient with a camera or if you do not have a quality camera, then consider hiring a professional photographer.
3. Submit the photographs to all of the local modeling agencies in your area if you want your baby to appear in print ads. You can also submit the photographs to agencies in surrounding areas, as long you will be willing to travel to these areas if your baby is selected for a photo shoot.
4. Target professional modeling and talent agencies in Los Angeles and the surrounding metropolitan area if you want your baby to be selected for a television commercial. Because Gap shoots its television commercials in the Los Angeles area, it relies on the modeling and talent agencies in that area. Hire representation from one of the agencies that you have selected. That way, you have a professional with network connections to advocate your baby when an opportunity with Gap arises.
5. Be attentive to casting calls. Although infrequently, Gap stores do announce casting calls to which you can submit pictures of your baby for public voters to select. If your baby is selected, then he or she will be featured in a photo display at your local Gap store. He or she may also win a small college fund or monetary earnings.
