Cost of plexiglass?
Hey guys! Quick question: If I purchase some plexiglass, about how much can I expect to spend per square foot? Thanks! I'm not sure anyone will have that figure at their finger tips. If you have a Lowe's or HD close they will both have some in stock that you can price. Generally it will be more expensive than glass. Is this for windows or some other use? Depends a lot on how thick and how many square feet you need As TG said, this stuff is not cheap I've still got HD's Pro Book on my computer, and at the last update sometime ago, 1/4 in 2'x4' sheet ran about $7 per sf. 1/8 ran about $3.50 sf. How big a piece or pieces are you needing? The prices chandler quoted seem a bit high. I retired from the business 5 years ago and I wasn't charging those prices. Deal with a local glass shop since they will cut it size and the cost will be less than the big box stores. If you call they will also quote a price and not keep you on hold. It's for a table actually, not a window. I'm trying to do something artsy and creative with a table top and would like to somehow cover the surface with plexiglass once I am finished. Since it's not needed to be as durable as it would in a window, I'd assume that the thinner 1/8 would be fine don't you guys think? And also, thanks for the advice on dealing with a local glass shop. I'll look one up today and try and get a quote. I just wanted a general idea before I embark on this artsy trip of mine to make sure it wouldn't break the bank and I'd be sitting there like this guy ----
