Make A Wheatfree Dairyfree Dessert Treat For Your Kids

Make a Wheat-free, Dairy-free Dessert Treat for Your Kids

It can be a challenge to feed yummy snacks when you have children with food allergies and intolerances. Here is a great recipe that I wrote. It is delicious, easy to make, and inexpensive. If you don't need wheat-free or dairy-free, then you can use any kind of fig newton type cookie in this recipe. I make these in plastic bowls so I can take them with me to parties when my son won't be able to eat the birthday cake and ice cream.

Instructions

1. Put the 5 cookies in a food processor with the regular blade inserted. Pulse until the cookies are finely chopped and sticky. Remove the cookie mixture from the processor and press into the bottom of each dessert bowl. If you are going to a party make them in plastic bowls.

2. Clean the processor bowl. Peel the bananas and cut into three pieces each so they will fit into the processor. Puree until they are very smooth.

3. Spoon the banana mixture equally into each dessert bowl, and place in the freezer. Remove from the freezer approximately 10 minutes before eating. Crumble another cookie or two on top if you wish.

4. Another option is to make the dessert in a pie pan, and cut individual servings. Enjoy this wheat-free dairy-free healthy dessert. Your kids will love it.
