Steam Seafood

Steamed seafood is not only healthy, but it is really delicious. You should try steaming seafood and you will see that it is an easy, fast and no fuss way to prepare a healthy dinner. Everyone, even kids, will love steamed seafood so try it out. Read on to learn steam seafood.

Instructions

1. Choose seafood to steam. Fish steaks or fillets, shellfish, or whole fish are the best selections to steam. Try your favorites and then try seafood you have never eaten before.

2. Boil water and place a rack over the water. Place the seafood on the rack and cover. You don't need to add butter or oil to the seafood because it will stay moist. Salt and pepper, or other seasonings, should be used. Make an entire meal at once by steaming vegetables, too. You can use a special steamer if you have one. Just arrange the seafood, bring water to a boil, and let it steam until done.

3. Check to see if the seafood is cooked. Seafood is done when it is opaque in the center. This usually takes a few minutes, depending on what you are steaming. Shellfish will be done faster than a whole fish, for example.

4. Serve your steamed seafood with other vegetables, rice, or any other side you like. This is a healthy meal and it never gets boring because there are so many different types of seafood you can steam.
