Microwave Popcorn With A Brown Bag

Popcorn is one of the most popular snack foods.

Dried kernels of corn have been heated to produce the fluffy and crunchy snack enjoyed by millions around the world. There are a variety of ways the kernels can be heated to produce popcorn -- from being heated on the stove to in an air popper. However, with the prevalence of microwaves in the modern kitchen, making popcorn is easiest in these timed heaters. With dried corn kernels, a brown paper bag, a microwave and some delicious toppings, making popcorn at home is not only easy but also delicious.

Instructions

1. Measure out 1/4 cup of corn kernels, and place them in the small bowl.

2. Drizzle the oil and sprinkle the salt evenly over top of the kernels. Toss the corn so that all the kernels are covered with oil and salt.

3. Open the brown paper bag, and set it on the counter with the opening facing upwards.

4. Pour the coated kernels in to the bag and fold over the top twice to make a seal.

5. Place the bag on its side in the microwave with the folds down to keep them sealed during popping.

6. Microwave the bag on high power until there is about five seconds between the popping, about two to three minutes.
