Make White Chocolate Popcorn Snack Mix

Make your own snack mix.

Popcorn is a favorite snack food of many people and it makes a great base for this delicious snack mix. The sweet and salty combination of this mix is sure to become a favorite. Snack mixes allow for personalization so feel free to add and subtract ingredients to suit personal preferences. With its white chocolate coating, this snack mix is great for meetings, parties and gift giving.

Instructions

Directions

1. Combine the popcorn, Cheerios, almonds, pretzels, and chocolate candies. This makes quite a bit of snack mix so you may need two large bowls to hold all the ingredients.

2. Melt the white chocolate chips and the vegetable oil. This can be done in a saucepan on the stove or even the microwave, but a double boiler makes the smoothest sauce. To make your own double boiler, simply have simmering water in a saucepan and lay a heat proof glass bowl on top. Be sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Stir the vegetable oil and white chocolate until smooth then take off the heat.

3. Pour the white chocolate mixture over the snack mix and gently toss to coat. Spread the mix out on two large baking sheets and allow to stand for two hours so the chocolate can set.

4. Serve the snack mix in serving bowls or place in containers to store. This mix will keep for two weeks in airtight plastic containers.
