Create A Wine And Cheese Party Gift Basket

Create a wine and cheese party gift basket to bring to your next event. It is an easy way to have treats for a wine and cheese party and there is little preparation involved. You can make a big basket or a small one depending on how many people the host is having over.

Instructions

1. Start by choosing the wine on which you would like to center the basket. Sometimes it is good to choose a white wine and a red wine or maybe two of each depending on how many people will be attending. Usually three or four bottles is the maximum for this gift.

2. Go to your local craft store and choose a gift basket for this wine and cheese creation. It should be strong enough to hold the wine bottles and cheese. It is best to choose wooden baskets as they provide a solid bottom.

3. Buy the filling for your basket. Filling is a nice touch when it comes to building the basket. Choose a color that goes with the season or holiday.

4. Go to your local deli and choose the cheese you want. Choose a variety of cheeses, including Swiss, cheddar, smoked, or gorgonzola. Buy some crackers, too.

5. Add garnishes, such as a bottle of olives, pickles or canned oysters. You could buy fruit for the basket, as long as you are making this creation right before you go to the party.

6. Place the filling in the basket first, followed by the wine bottles, the cheese and the garnishes. Decorate with sparkles or ribbons. Don't forget a classy cheese knife.

7. Use cellophane to wrap the gift basket. Cut a piece big enough to wrap the entire basket and leave at least a 5-inch frill above the basket. Tie it with a ribbon.
