Make Country Gravy

Put country gravy over biscuits or chicken fried steak.

I have another recipe that my mom taught me while I was young. She taught me make country gravy from scratch instead of from a package. It tastes just as good and is cheaper than buying a package to prepare at home. You probably even have the ingredients in your cupboard already.

Instructions

1. In a cup mix three-fourths cup of flour with a cup of water and one fourth cup of milk. Mix well until there are no lumps in the mixture.

2. Heat the pan that you will use to cook the gravy. Put just a little bit of oil in the pan and move around and coat the pan. This will prevent the gravy from sticking to the pan while cooking.

3. Pour the mixture into the pan and cook on low heat. You must constantly stir the mixture or lumps will form. Cook to the consistency that you like. Add salt and pepper to taste. If lumps form or the gravy is too thick then add milk and stir. This will dissolve the lumps and also make the mixture less thick. Serve with the foods of your choice.
