Omega 8001 Juicer Problems

The modern world is arguably more health conscious than ever before. But with the ever-growing strains on your time, getting all your daily vitamins and minerals can be a problem. The advent of home juicers make the intake of healthy fruits and veggies as easy as enjoying a refreshing drink. The Omega 8001 is a multipurpose juicer that also can grind nuts, and process baby food and mincemeats.

Yield

Some owners have complained of an overall low level of juice yield. It is important for many larger pieces of fruit and vegetables to be cut into smaller portions for maximum ease of processing. Use the food pusher to move the pieces into the guide. Add juicing materials into the feed slowly to avoid overworking the motor.

Jams

You must frequently disassemble the machine for cleaning. Cellulose and other plant materials build up in the nooks and crannies and can affect juicing efficiency. Sticky juice and plant residue buildup can even make it difficult to take apart, particularly in the drum portion of the device. If jams occur during operation, a few presses of the reverse button can often dislodge the jam in the drum.

Cleaning

Despite modern manufacturing technologies, many specialty appliances are not suitable for dishwasher cleaning. Many parts of the Omega 8001 are made of stainless steel that is laminated in nylon. The high temperature in most dishwashers can lead to such problems as nylon damage, exposing the steel below. All Omega 8001 Juicer parts must be hand-cleaned with warm water and soap.

Multiple Functions

The Omega 8001 Juicer is marketed as a multipurpose appliance. Because of its utility, there are number of specific nozzles and strainers for different purposes. Softer fruits, such as berries and citrus, require the juicer strainer and the regular nozzle on notch 1. Switch to nozzle notch 2 for beets, carrots and similar fruits and vegetables. Always consult the owner's manual for specific combinations for different needs.

Taste and Pulp

Juice flavor can vary greatly from juicer to juicer. The low-heat environment of the Omega 8001 is supposed to allow for the best nutrient value for your juice. Some consumers may find the taste unconventional compared with store-bought juice or juice from other devices. Pulp is also filtered fully from the juice, which may affect individual preferences.
