Fry Crispy Chicken Strips

Chicken strips are often served with fries at casual restaurants.

Chicken strips are a staple of casual family restaurants and can usually please even the pickiest of eaters. If you're on a tight budget, those battered strips of chicken can easily be made at home. If you especially love the crunch of chicken strips, it's a good idea to add a crunchy crumb coating to the chicken before frying. Using crushed cornflakes or other corn cereal will provide a lot of crunch to your fried chicken strips.

Instructions

1. Fill a large, deep saucepan halfway with peanut oil. Heat the oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Cut the chicken breasts into 1/2-inch-thick slices.

3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, to taste.

4. Crack 3 eggs into a bowl, and beat with a wire whisk. Pour the flour into a separate bowl.

5. Spread the corn cereal out on a pie plate, and season it with salt, pepper and other optional seasonings, such as garlic powder, lemon-pepper seasoning and cayenne pepper. Alternately, you can used crushed crackers instead of corn cereal.

6. Dredge the chicken strips a few at a time, first into the flour, then the eggs, then the corn cereal or crackers.

7. Place the dredged chicken strips into the hot oil. Fry until the chicken is golden brown on the outside and they float to the top.

8. Remove the chicken strips from the fryer. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Enjoy the chicken strips hot.
