Cook Potato Sausage

Potato sausage, or potatis korv, is a dish that originated in Sweden and was eaten at Christmas time, but has since been replaced by other foods. Its main ingredients include milk, onions, beef, pork, potatoes and allspice. If you'd like to add it to your next holiday feast, try this recipe.

Instructions

1. Place potato sausage in a large skillet. Fill the skillet with just enough water to cover the sausage. Overfilling will increase the time it takes for the sausage to boil.

2. Bring potato sausage to a boil over medium-high heat.

3. Turn the heat to low and cover. Simmer for approximately 25 to 30 minutes.

4. Remove sausage from water and place in a covered dish. Let the potato sausage sit for 5 minutes before cutting.

5. Cut each link into 3 serving size pieces. The casing can be left on the sausage when served, but should be removed prior to eating.

6. Serve with boiled vegetables and mashed potatoes or Norwegian potato lefsa (a potato pastry).
