Make Microwave Popcorn Extra Buttery

If you want that movie-theatre-popcorn taste at home, here's how you can get it. All you need is microwave popcorn, some butter and a little seasoning. Use these simple suggestions to make the best popcorn your family's ever had at home.

Instructions

1. Buy good-quality butter-flavored microwave popcorn. Skip the store and generic brands in favor of premium popcorn. Get family-sized bags; individually sized bags leave too many unpopped kernels.

2. Pop your popcorn in the microwave. Use the popcorn button if your microwave has one. Otherwise, watch the popcorn closely and turn off your microwave when there are two to three seconds between pops. Make sure you don't overcook the popcorn.

3. Melt a few tablespoons of salted butter (not margarine) on the stove while you pop the popcorn. As soon as your popcorn comes out of the microwave, empty the bag into a large bowl. Pour the butter over the popcorn and stir well.

4. Intensify the butter flavor by adding seasoning. The website Popcorn Popper carries a wide variety of popcorn seasonings, including theater spice seasoning and theater popcorn salt. Sprinkle seasonings sparingly on your popcorn so you don't overdo it. Stir the popcorn well after you add seasonings.

5. Serve the extra buttery popcorn to your family and curl up in front of a good movie. They'll never wish for theater popcorn again.
