Use Fresh Garlic To Cure Acne

Use Fresh Garlic to Cure Acne

There is no scientific evidence that garlic can successfully treat acne, but there are many personal testimonials that attest to its effectiveness. The properties of garlic are widely believed to make it an antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and antioxidant agent. The only way to find out whether a garlic treatment is a good cure for acne is to try it.

Instructions

Prepare a Garlic Cure

1. Extract 2 cloves of fresh garlic from a bulb and peel them. You can also use store-bought garlic cloves.

2. Crush the garlic cloves into a pulp, and then squeeze the juice out. This process may be easier to do with a garlic press and cheesecloth.

3. Apply the garlic juice on your face. Concentrate on the problem spots, but also attend to clear areas. Garlic juice on the clear areas may help prevent future breakouts.

4. Leave the application on for about 5 minutes, and then wash it off. Do not leave it on overnight because the elements contained in the garlic juice are so strong they may burn your skin.

5. Use this cure until your acne disappears. You can also continue to apply garlic juice daily to protect your skin from possible breakouts. Keep any unused portion fresh by storing it in a refrigerator.

Prepare a Garlic and Vinegar Treatment

6. Crush 2 cloves of fresh garlic, and then squeeze the juice out of the pulp.

7. Measure an amount of white vinegar to match the amount of garlic juice.

8. Mix the juices together.

9. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and rub it on the affected area. The white vinegar helps to balance the skin. The antioxidant element in the garlic juice may draw out infections in the skin and repair it while the other elements may work to reduce the acne.

Combat Acne With Garlic in Other Ways

10. Mix fresh garlic, minced or crushed, with cottage cheese, applesauce or yogurt, and eat the mixture. This is a tasty way to get all the elements that these items possess. If eaten regularly, the garlic may help prevent breakouts.

11. Take garlic supplements in capsule form. Use capsules if you want to avoid the garlic odor.
