Easily Can Salsa

Salsa canned at home can taste fresher than store bought.

There are many different types of salsas that you can purchase in the store. However, for a fresher taste and your own flavor combinations, you can use an easy process for canning your own salsa at home. Canning salsa does not take much effort, and you can use whatever flavor combinations you want. But you will have to have a few pieces of special equipment to make sure the salsa you can stays nice and fresh.

Instructions

1. Add your salsa ingredients to a large pan and boil. The ingredients will vary greatly depending on the type of salsa you're making.

2. Stir the contents of the pan as it reaches a boil. Turn down the heat, and simmer the contents for 20 minutes. Keep stirring every five minutes or so.

3. Add the contents of the pan with a large ladle to pint-sized jars.

4. Put on two-piece canning lids, which consist of a round metal piece placed over the mouth of the jar and then a rim which close off the mouth.

5. Place the sealed jars of salsa into a boiling water canner. Leave them there for about 15 minutes to finish the canning process.
