Make Ramen Noodles Without A Pasta Machine

Make your own ramen noodles by hand.

If you enjoy eating pasta, you may feel ready for a new type of noodle. Ramen noodles are a Japanese noodle that add a new taste and texture to your soups. Ramen noodles are also an excellent accompaniment to a main meat or fish dish. With little effort you can make your own ramen noodles by hand.

Instructions

1. Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl.

2. Make a well in the center. Add the water and eggs and mix it with the spoon. Mold it into a solid ball of dough.

3. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.

4. Dust a table or counter liberally with flour. Roll the dough with a rolling pin on the floured surface. Roll it until the dough measures 1 centimeter (roughly 1/4 inch) thick.

5. Slice the dough into thin strips measuring 1 centimeter wide. Move the strips a bit and sprinkle flour over and around each strip so that the strips of dough separate easily.

6. Roll several strips together into a nest or leave the strips laying straight on the table.

7. Leave the strips to rest for 2 to 3 hours.

8. Fry the strips, ensuring that they brown lightly on each side. Let them cool.

9. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add one tsp. salt.

10. Drop the noodles into the boiling water one by one and let them cook for 5 minutes. Drain and serve.
