Make Italian Turkey Sausage

Use turkey for a tasty and low fat alternative to traditional Italian sausage. If you don't say anything, your dinner guests probably won't even know the difference. This guide will provide you with an easy to make recipe that is delectable. You're sure to delight your family for breakfast, and equally sure to thrill guests at an evening meal!


Instructions


1. Combine the turkey, garlic powder, fennel seed, sugar, salt, oregano and pepper in a medium to large bowl.


2. Cover the turkey, and refrigerate it for at least 8 hours or overnight.


3. Shape the turkey into eight patties after refrigeration.


4. Cook the turkey patties in a nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray for about 3 minutes on each side. When they are done, a meat thermometer should read 165 degrees F.








5. Consider making sausage crumbles as well. For turkey Italian sausage crumbles, crumble turkey into a nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray. Cook and stir for about 4 minutes. Cook at least until meat is no longer pink.
