Easy To Make Salads

Healthy eating is something that many people strive to incorporate into their daily lives. Salads are one of the healthiest meals that can be consumed for lunch or dinner. The compilation of fresh greens and other ingredients make for delicious treats for you and loved ones. Many salads are quick and easy to make.








Fruit Salad


Fruit Salad is the easiest to make. Cut up one grapefruit, two oranges, two bananas, six large strawberries, two nectarines and 1/2 of a honeydew melon into bite-sized pieces. Mix all the fruit in one bowl. For a little treat, add yogurt or pudding on top. Keep in the refrigerator. It should be eaten in one day.


Broccoli Salad


The ingredients for a broccoli salad are one to two heads of broccoli, 1/2 cup chopped red onion, six to eight slices of bacon and 1 cup shredded cheese. You can also add any other vegetable to enhance the salad. Try adding celery, carrots, olives and sunflower seeds.


Combine 2 cups mayonnaise, 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup sugar for the dressing.


Fry bacon until crispy and let drain on a paper towel. Break up broccoli into small florets. You will need about four cups. Add the onion and cheese and toss with the dressing. Crumble the bacon into small bits and sprinkle on top. Refrigerate for two hours and serve.








Carrot Salad


Carrots are known to improve eyesight and this carrot salad will look good. You will need two peeled carrots, 2 tbsp. mayonnaise, 1/2 zucchini, 1 cup broccoli and 1/2 cup of peas.


Grate carrots, break up broccoli into florets and slice zucchini. Put all the vegetables into a bowl and blend in mayonnaise.


Bean Salad


A bean salad is a nice change. You will need one can of mixed beans, 1/3 cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar, two slices red onion, 1/4 orange pepper, one celery stalk, one garlic clove and a pinch of oregano and basil.


Drain beans and put into a large bowl. Chop all the vegetables and mince garlic and combine with beans. Mix the oil and vinegar with the oregano and basil to create the dressing and toss with the bean mixture.
