Halloween Food That You Can Make

Your kids can help you make these simple recipes before the party starts.

Halloween is a festive holiday, and you can make food dishes that are just as creative as costumes. These starters will put your guests in the mood for the holiday and also display your creativity. Regardless if you are hosting an adult or kids' Halloween party, these recipes will provide entertainment for all your guests.

Chocolate Witches Hats

For this recipe, you will need Keebler's Fudge Stripes shortbread cookies, Hershey's Kisses, orange gel icing and orange colored sugar. Place the cookies stripe-side down on a plate. Dab some orange gel icing around the center hole of the cookie. Place a Hersey's kiss on top of the gel and press down gently. Squeeze some orange gel onto the top of the Hersey's kiss and sprinkle with some orange colored sugar.

Boogers on a Stick

This not-so-appetizing looking dish is simple to make and enjoyable to eat. You will need Cheez Whiz, green food coloring and pretzel rods. Mix a few drops of green food coloring into the cheese until you have your desired shade of green. Dip the pretzel rod into the sauce and place it on wax paper to avoid a mess. If you want the sauce to harden a bit, place the pretzels in the fridge for an hour.

Forked Eyeballs

Doughnut holes provide the perfect shape to created gruesome eyeballs. Melt white chocolate chips in vegetable oil over low heat. Spear doughnut holes onto forks and submerge the holes into the chocolate, allow the excess to drip off. Place a semisweet chocolate chip on the doughnut hole for the iris. Place the forks in a mug to allow the chocolate shell to harden. Use red frosting to create squiggly veins.
