Enjoy seafood in a variety of salads
Seafood provides a lot of meal choices, but instead of dipping another shrimp into cocktail sauce or baking up a new batch of fish sticks, implement seafood into a festive and healthy salad. Multiple salad mixtures are available to cater to all of types of seafood, including salmon, tuna, shrimp and crab meat.
Summer Salmon Salad
Salmon is cut up into small strips and grilled to become the main treat in this salad mixture. To complement the fish, mixed greens are combined with other ingredients like pine nuts, black beans, feta cheese and a cut-up orange to provide a little sweet taste. The salad mixes best with an orange-based vinaigrette dressing, but Italian dressing goes well with the salad, too.
Shrimp Salad
A simple creation, adding shrimp to a regular tossed salad adds a little crunch and chewiness. Cut up your favorite salad vegetables and mix them in with lettuce, spinach or other greens you choose to use. Cook and peel fresh shrimp or simply thaw out pre-cooked shrimp, cut it up and add it to the salad. Use vinegar dressing to get the most flavor out of the shrimp.
Seafood Salad
The basic seafood salad is filled with multiple types of seafood and eliminates the greens found in other types of seafood salad. Use seafood like cooked shrimp, scallops, crabmeat and tuna. Combine them in a bowl with seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic pepper and other flavorings according to your personal taste. Chop up two to three hard boiled eggs and mix them in with the seafood. Add a cup of mayonnaise to complete the salad.
Tuna Salad
Use one can of tuna to create a fast simple salad for lunch. Mix the tuna with a shredded carrot, chopped celery, onions and a cup of mayonnaise. To add a little crunch into the salad, crush up a few potato chips, pretzels or use shoestring potato snacks. Double the ingredients if you are serving for more than two people.
Scallop and Mango Salad
Rinse, shell and clean out about a dozen scallops. Slice up a mango into small cubes. Cook the scallops in the salad dressing you want to use for around five minutes. Mix the scallops and the mangoes with a bed of greens to create the basic salad. Add more flavor to the salad by adding vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers and shredded carrot. Add extra dressing to the salad as needed.
