How Kids Can Make Popcorn Balls

Discard unpopped popcorn before making the balls.

When preparing sweet treats in the kitchen, let your children get their hands messy with something simple. Popcorn balls are classic sweet treats you and your kids can make any time with just a few ingredients. Prepare the ingredients and allow your children to shape the mixture into popcorn balls to finish the recipe. You and your kids can make popcorn balls in just a few minutes whenever a sweet craving strikes.

Instructions

1. Combine 4 cups of mini marshmallows and 5 tbsp. of butter in a large glass bowl.

2. Microwave the marshmallows and butter on high for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl and stir the contents with a spoon before microwaving for another 30 seconds. Continue microwaving and stirring until all of the marshmallows are melted.

3. Pour 8 cups of popped popcorn into the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir with a spoon to coat all of the popcorn. Allow the popcorn and marshmallow mixture to cool until it is safe to handle.

4. Cover the children's hands in butter to prevent the popcorn from sticking to them.

5. Allow the children to shape the popcorn mixture into small balls and place them onto a sheet of wax paper.

6. Let the popcorn balls cool for one hour before serving.
