Make A Whipped Moisturizer

Make your own version of whipped moisturizer with shea butter for smooth, healthy skin and hair at a fraction of the cost.

Shea butter is derived from the nuts of Shea trees found in Africa. It can be used in its pure form, but the hard texture makes it tough to work into the skin. Combine it with other ingredients to make a whipped moisturizer and improve texture. It is known to improve the skin's elasticity, lessen the appearance of wrinkles and treat eczema. Use as a base for other skin-loving ingredients like jojoba and coconut oil. Shea butter creates a luxurious whipped moisturizer, but it can be expensive. You can make it at home to treat your skin and save money.

Instructions

1. Measure the shea butter, jojoba oil, argan oil, coconut oil, aloe vera gel and vegetable glycerin.

2. Place all of the ingredients in the blender and put the lid on. Blend the ingredients on medium to medium-high speed for two to three minutes or until the mixture reaches a smooth, pudding-like consistency. Stop the blender to scrape the mixture from the sides and around the blade with a spatula as needed.

3. Pour the whipped moisturizer into decorative containers. Seal with tight-fitting lids. Label the jars and store them in a dark, cool place.

4. Apply the whipped moisturizer to the face and body to moisturize dry, chapped skin. Concentrate on rough areas of the skin like elbows, knees and heels.

5. Treat your hair with the whipped moisturizer. Use it in the same way you would conditioner and moisturizing treatment. Apply to the hair, face and body daily after showering to maintain healthy skin and hair.
