What Are The Benefits Of Drinking Vinegar

Vinegar has been considered a folk remedy for many years. There is a wide range of ills that vinegar supposedly cures with no scientific evidence. Medical research, however, has found some possible benefits of drinking vinegar.

Folk Remedies

Some of the claims of drinking vinegar without scientific evidence include preventing colds, curing fatigue, reducing cholesterol and improving skin health.

Mainstream Medicine

Recent studies now show that apple cider vinegar can actually help with diabetes because it lowers glucose levels. Other studies show that it helps weight loss by making drinkers feel full.

Types

There are many vinegars available, including black, plum, lemon, wine and various aromatic flavors. Apple cider vinegar is considered most beneficial to health.

Preparation

People usually mix vinegar in order to make it more palatable. Some dilute one ounce vinegar to three parts water. Others drink it with tea and honey. Two teaspoons to two tablespoons a day is the recommended dosage.

Considerations

Vinegar is highly acidic and can cause damage to tissue or tooth enamel. People with serious medical conditions should consult their doctor before using vinegar.
