Make Parmesan Crisps

Meals begin with appetizers that are often the favorite part of the whole dining experience, but people can tire of the same old sausage balls or mini-quiches. Change your appetizer routine and try something different by baking a tasty treat of Parmesan crisps.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Open a bag of pre-shredded Parmesan cheese equal to 2 cups total. Pour it into a large bowl.

3. Add 1 tbsp. of regular flour. This will help coat the cheese and act as a binder.

4. Sprinkle in about 1 tbsp. or so of Italian herb seasoning and a pinch of crushed red pepper for flavoring. Stir all ingredients together.

5. Spoon the mixture in heaping scoops onto a baking sheet covered with a nonstick liner. Scoop the mixture from the bottom of the bowl to be sure each crisp gets seasoning. Make sure there is plenty of room between each crisp as they melt and spread while cooking. Flatten each pile of the mixture with the back of the spoon.

6. Bake the Parmesan crisps for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

7. Remove the crisps from the oven and let them cool a few minutes. Remove them from the baking sheet and drape them over a curved rolling pin for a curved shape or just set them on a plate to finish cooling.

8. Serve the crisps warm or at room temperature. They can be eaten as an appetizer or sprinkled as crumbled crisps on top of a salad for a surprise taste treat.
