The pot stickers you slaved over are delicious and you have them arranged so neatly on a plate, but you feel something is missing. You really want to impress your guests, so you decide to whip up a simple pot sticker sauce that will knock everybody's socks off.
Instructions
1. Take the fresh ginger root and cut off a small section. Remove the outer layer. Chop the ginger into fine pieces.
2. Grab the green pepper, slice it open and remove the insides. Chop that into small pieces, also.
3. Get the garlic and remove a few cloves. If you like garlic, feel free to add some extra cloves. Remove the skin and finely chop the garlic.
4. Add the ginger, green pepper and garlic to the mixing bowl and sprinkle with a bit of sugar. Add the sesame seed oil and mix everything up. Sesame seed oil has a deep flavor, so substituting a different oil, such as olive oil, is not recommended.
5. Pour the balsamic vinegar and soy sauce into the mixing bowl and stir. You can substitute the regular soy sauce with a light soy sauce, or even a low sodium soy sauce if you are watching your salt intake.
6. Add the sea salt and cracked black pepper to the mixture and give it a final stir. If you don't have sea salt, substitute it with regular table salt. Put the sauce into the refrigerator for an hour to chill and to let the flavors combine.
