Make Turkey Jerky

Make Turkey Jerky

Jerky has long been a favorite snack of those who love savory munchies. Though jerky is traditionally made using beef, turkey jerky is gaining in popularity. Here is a quick and easy recipe to make your own turkey jerky at home.

Instructions

1. Mix all ingredients together. In your marinade dish mix all your ingredients together except the turkey slices. Stir well.

2. Lay strips of turkey in the marinade dish. Place strips of turkey in the marinade dish, making sure all the pieces of turkey are covered by the marinade.

3. Marinade the turkey. Place the marinade dish in the refrigerator for eight to twenty-four hours.

4. Remove the turkey slices from the marinade and blot with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

5. Dehydrate your turkey slices. If you are using a food dehydrator place the strips of turkey in a single layer in the food dehydrator. Turn the dehydrator on and allow the turkey jerky to dehydrate until the turkey jerky is crisp.

Making Turkey Jerky In Your Oven

6. Pre-heat the oven. If you are using the oven method to make turkey jerky pre-heat your oven to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Place strips of turkey on a metal rack and place in the oven when the oven reaches temperature.

7. Dehydrate your turkey in the oven for six to eight hours.
