Make French Toast With Cream Cheese

French toast is an easy dish to prepare when you don't have a lot of time to cook, or you need to serve a filling breakfast to a lot of guests. To make French toast more nutritious, you can add bananas, blueberries or strawberries to the cream cheese mixture.

Instructions

Making Cream-Cheese-Filled French Toast

1. Put the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Pour the vanilla on top of it.

2. Blend the vanilla into the cream cheese with the rubber spatula.

3. Add the chopped walnuts and blend them into the cream cheese.

4. Spread an even layer of cream cheese on two slices of bread. Sit one piece of bread on top of the other to form a sandwich.

5. Repeat step 4 for the other 10 slices of bread. When you are finished you will have six sandwiches.

6. Put the eggs, milk, nutmeg and cinnamon in the other mixing bowl.

7. Whip the ingredients together with a fork until well blended.

8. Dip each sandwich into the egg-milk-spice mixture so that it's thoroughly covered. Sit the sandwich on the plate when you're finished.

9. Turn on the largest stove burner and set it on high.

10. Put 2 tbsp. of butter or margarine in the frying pan and let it melt. Tilt the pan, and let the butter slide around so that the bottom is covered.

11. Sit two sandwiches in the pan when the butter starts sizzling. Toast them for about 90 seconds, or until the bottom is golden brown.

12. Flip the sandwiches with the metal spatula, and toast the other side until golden brown.

13. Put the finished sandwiches on the serving plate and cover them.

14. Repeat steps 11, 12 and 13 for the rest of the sandwiches.

15. Serve with maple syrup on the side. Makes about four servings.
