Make White Wine Punch

White wine punch is refreshing and crisp.

Created in Spain and made popular in the United States at the 1964 World's Fair, sangria is the inspiration for the wine punches of today. With many varieties of sangria and wine punches to choose from, you can find a recipe to suit any occasion. Crisp and clear, white wine can create a delicious punch that is both refreshing and aesthetically pleasing. The golden color of white wine will offset the color of the fruit in the punch bowl. You can make white wine punch in large volumes for parties and gatherings, or it can be made and enjoyed by the glass.

Instructions

Preparing White Wine Punch for a Party

1. Raspberries add color and flavor to a white wine punch.

Place frozen raspberries at the bottom of a large punch bowl. Make sure raspberries are fully frozen and haven't begun to thaw.

2. Choose a dry white wine for your white wine punch.

Pour the entire bottle of dry white wine over the raspberries. Add 4 cups of fresh club soda.

3. Fruit juice adds sweetness to white wine punch.

Add 6 cups of fruit juice. Orange, pineapple or grapefruit are the best flavor choices. You can also create a combination of all three flavors by mixing equal parts of each juice.

4. Stir in brown sugar.

5. Squeeze in the juice of 2 limes. Thinly slice the lemons and float the thin slices on top of the punch.

6. Section the grapefruit and the oranges. Float grapefruit and orange sections in the punch.

7. Ladle the punch into cocktail or punch glasses and serve over ice.

White Wine Punch by the Glass

8. Add a few frozen raspberries per glass to add color and flavor.

Place a small handful of frozen raspberries and ice in the bottom of a cocktail glass. Fill the glass 3/4 of the way with white wine.

9. Club soda will provide the fizz for your glass of punch.

Add a dash of club soda and fruit juice to taste. The club soda will give the wine punch a fizzy element.

10. A thin slice of lemon can provide flavor and aesthetic value.

Float a thin slice of lemon in the glass of punch.

11. Mix in half a shot of brandy or vodka.

12. Repeat steps to yield one glass of white wine punch at a time.
