Connect A Water Hose To A Sink Faucet

A water hose carries water to your faucet.

Indoor plumbing is truly one of mankind's greatest inventions. No more trips out to the well in the middle of the night to get a drink of water or to wash your hands. Regardless of the make or manufacturer of your sink faucet, they all work much the same way. The faucet is connected to a sink and a flexible hose connects to a water supply to carry the water up to the faucet. Whether you are installing a new faucet or upgrading an old one, the last thing you'll have to do for your plumbing to work properly is to connect a water hose up to your sink faucet.

Instructions

1. Locate the water supply valves for the sink faucet where you will install the hose. In the vast majority of installations, these will be located directly beneath the sink faucet.

2. Clean off the threads on the water supply outlet and the sink inlet by rubbing them with a piece of steel wool.

3. Wrap both inlets with a piece of plumber's tape.

4. Thread one end of the water hose onto the water supply valve. Do the same thing with the other end at the faucet inlet. Give the coupling nuts at both ends an additional turn with the wrench.

5. Turn the water supply back on. Allow the pipes to fill.

6. Run the faucet and check for leaks.
