Tropical Wedding Drink Ideas

When you're getting married, many different types of drinks can be served at the reception. For some weddings, the bar consists of beer and wine only, while other people choose to include liquor. If liquor is going to be served at your reception and you have something of a tropical theme for your wedding, you can have some fun with tropical drinks.

Tropical Frozen Drinks

The many different kinds of frozen tropical drinks include traditional ones, such as pina coladas, strawberry daiquiris and rum runners. Another frozen tropical drink idea is a Bahama mama, which has light and dark rums, pina colada mix and the bar's punch mix.

Chilled Tropical Drinks

Some tropical drinks don't require a blender; they simply can be served over ice. Popular drinks of this kind include mai tais, hurricanes, blue Hawaiians and Jamaican breezes. Another drink idea is a coconut rum crusta, which consists of Malibu rum mixed with Grand Marnier, simple syrup and fresh lemon juice.

Jamaican Freeze

The Jamaican freeze is a frozen tropical drink that requires a blender, pina colada mix, a banana, Midori melon liquor and Malibu pineapple rum. Blend 1 1/4 oz. Malibu pineapple rum, 3/4 oz. Midori melon liquor, 1 oz. pina colada mix and half a banana. This drink is good for people who don't like the taste of liquor.
