Where Is Lipase Found

Lipase is a water soluble enzyme. It can be found in every living organism on the planet including even some viruses. It can also be found in plants, milk molds and bacteria.

Where is it

Pancreatic lipase enzymes can be found in the spaces outside of cells and are responsible for metabolism, absorption and transportation of lipids throughout the body. It is also found in enzymes in the stomach.

What is it

Lipase is the main digestive enzyme of the pancreas and breaks down fats in the digestive system.

Types of Lipase

There are many different types of lipase that can be found in the human body. These are pancreatic lipase, hepatic lipase, lysosomal lipase, gastric lipase, and endothelial lipase.

Burn fuel

An adequate diet of lipase enzymes can help in the burning of fat stores.

What it does not do

Lipase enzymes are special because they do not break down fat soluble vitamins or unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids.

Supplements

Supplements of lipase enzymes are usually from animal enzymes though plant lipase, as well as other digestive enzymes are becoming more popular. Lipase enzymes are available in tablet or capsule form to aid in digestion for those with low lipase levels.
