Take Apart A Krups Grind & Brew

The Krups Grind & Brew coffee machine, also known as the Krups KM7000, brews ground coffee or coffee that you have ground using the conical burr grinder attached to the top of the machine. The KM7000 then dispenses the coffee -- up to 10 cups -- into its glass carafe. Typically, you need to take apart the machine to clean it and remove coffee grounds or coffee bean particles and oil. This is also good to do before you store the machine. Whatever your reason, Krups has designed the Grind & Brew with only a couple of removable parts so that you can take your machine apart quickly.

Instructions

1. Turn off and unplug your Krups KM7000 Grind & Brew coffee machine.

2. Grasp the handle on the 10-cup carafe and remove it from the warming plate. Set it aside.

3. Rotate the filter holder to the left of the machine. Grasp the filter basket and pull it up and out of the holder. Swivel the holder back into its original position.

4. Set the filter basket aside. If the basket has a filter and coffee grinds in it, dispose of both and set the basket aside so that you can clean it when you're finished taking your machine apart.

5. Stick the tip of a ballpoint pen or the end of an unfolded wire paperclip into the hole on the top of the clear cover of the ground coffee supply channel to unlock it from the machine. Pull it toward you and off of the machine and set it aside.

6. Lift the lid on the water reservoir and dump out any remaining water if applicable. Remove the water filter holder. Remove and dispose of the filter, dry the holder and set it aside.

7. Clean and/or store your Krups Grind & Brew coffee machine and parts as desired.
