Make Summer Cocktails
Summer is a fabulous time for drinking, whether it's a cocktail with co-workers after a long day sitting inside the office or with your friends at a BBQ. Fruity drinks with fresh fruit are the number one staple for any type of summer beverage. Below, you will find recipes for a Sherry Cobbler, Cinderella, Josiah's Bay Float, and the Coco Loco. Instructions
1. Sherry Cobbler: You will need ice, 1/4 tsp. of sugar syrup, 1/4 tsp. clear Curacao, 4 measures of Amontillado sherry, pineapple wedges and a twist of lemon peel. Fill a wine glass with ice. Pour in the syrup and Curacao until a frost is formed. Pour in the sherry and stir. Decorate with wedges and twist. Serves 1.
2. Cinderella: For this drink, you will need ice, 3 measures of white rum, 1 measure white port, 1 measure lemon juice, 1 tsp. sugar syrup and 1 egg white. Place the ice in a cocktail shaker. Put the rum, port, lemon juice and sugar syrup in together over the ice. Add the egg white. Shake until a frost forms and strain into a glass. Serves 1.
3. Josiah's Bay Float: The ingredients required are: ice, 2 measures golden rum, 1 measure Galliano, 2 measures pineapple juice, 1 measure lime juice, 4 tsp. sugar syrup, champagne, slices of lime, slices of lemon, cocktail cherries and a scooped out pineapple shell. Put the ice into a shaker. Pour the rum, Galliano, pineapple juice, lime juice and sugar syrup over the ice. Shake until a frost is formed. Strain into pineapple shell and top with champagne. Stir gently. Decorate with slices and cherries. Serve with 2 straws. Serves 2.
4. Coco Loco: You will need 1 fresh coconut, ice, 2 measures white tequila, 1 measure gin, 1 measure white rum, 2 measures pineapple juice, 1 tsp. sugar syrup and 1/2 of a lime. Saw the top off the coconut and preserve the liquid inside. Add ice, tequila, gin, rum, pineapple juice, and sugar to the coconut juice. Squeeze the lime over the drink and drop it in. Stir well and serve with a crazy straw. Serves 1.
