When you think of soup, you do not usually think of strawberry soup, but it's delicious, very easy to make and your can serve is an unusual appetizer, a dessert or even for breakfast. If you enjoy the mouth-watering taste of strawberries, you should make some strawberry soup. Read on to learn more.
Instructions
1. Wash the fresh strawberries under cool running water. Then gently remove any excess water by gently patting them with paper towels.
2. Remove the stems from the strawberries with a sharp knife or a strawberry huller. Set aside 12 whole strawberries that you'll use later as a garnish for the soup.
3. Combine the strawberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, whipped topping, sugar and vanilla into a large bowl.
4. Mix the ingredients with an electric mixer for 5 to 7 minutes on the low speed, or until the mixture has become smooth and the sugar is completely dissolved.
5. Add the sour cream into the bowl and mix on the low speed for 1 minute. Place the bowl into the refrigerator to chill.
6. Make croutons out of pound cake. Slice pound cake into cubes, place them under the broiler for 3 minutes. Turn them over and brown the other side for 3 minutes
7. Serve the strawberry soup in chilled bowls. Garnish the soup with the toasted pound cake croutons, whole strawberries and sprigs of fresh mint.
