Coat Fish With Breading Mixture

Add breading to fish prior to cooking it for a crispy and delicious coating. Use fish such as sole, flounder, trout or haddock. Add herbs and spices to the bread mixture to make a more flavorful fish fillet. Breading fish is easy and fast. Save plenty of time for clean up, as it is the most time consuming part of preparing breaded fish.

Instructions

1. Prepare the fish fillets by skinning and deboning them. Rinse the fillets with water and pat them dry with paper towels.

2. Mix the ingredients for the bread coating in a shallow bowl or large plate. Add any desired herbs and spices, mixing them in the coating with your hands. Fill a second bowl with a small amount of water.

3. Set up the work station by lining the ingredients in the order they will be used. Put the plate of fish first, followed by the water, breading and baking tray.

4. Pick up one fish fillet. Briefly dip the fillet in the bowl of water, just to moisten it. Lay the fillet in the breading mixture, gently pressing on the fish to make the mixture adhere. Flip the fillet over, and repeat the process on the second side.

5. Place the breaded fillet on the baking sheet. Follow the same steps to coat the remaining pieces of fish.

6. Bake or fry the fish according to the directions of your particular recipe.
