Make Scalloped Potatoes In A Crock Pot

Scalloped potatoes make an excellent side dish.

Scalloped potatoes are traditionally baked in the oven. The dish combines sliced potatoes with cheese and a variety of other ingredients to thicken and enhance the flavor. Cooking scalloped potatoes in the crock pot involves less prep time, and you can start cooking them earlier in the day so you have less to do at dinner time. Serve scalloped potatoes as a side dish, or add diced ham or sausage to the mix to make it a main course.

Instructions

1. Peel your potatoes with a vegetable peeler. Slice them thin with a sharp knife.

2. Cook the potatoes in a pot with just enough water to cover them. Allow them to cook over medium heat for three to five minutes.

3. Drain the potatoes into a colander. Put the potatoes in the crock pot.

4. Add a can of cream of celery soup, 1/2 cup of butter, softened, 3/4 cup of sour cream, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper and 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

5. Stir the contents of your crock pot with a rubber spatula. Keep stirring until all the ingredients are blended and the potatoes look coated.

6. Place the lid on your crock pot and allow the contents to cook for three hours on high, or six hours on low. Serve right from your crock pot.
