Make Lemon Drop Jello Shooters

When throwing a party, most hosts want their guests to have pleasant and memorable experiences. Whether the occasion calls for a backyard barbecue or a dressy cocktail event, a large part of the party experience is formed by the food and beverages served. In a clever combination of food and beverage, you can impress your guests with handmade lemon drop Jell-O shooters. Fashioned as Jello-O filled lemon wedges, these shooters are as tasty as they are memorable.








Instructions


1. Cut your lemons in half.


2. Dig out the flesh from each lemon piece. Dig down just enough to pull out the flesh and upper portion of pith, but be careful not to puncture the rind. Set the flesh to the side.


3. Process enough lemon flesh through your lemon juicer to obtain 1/2 cup of juice. Discard the remaining flesh.








4. Pour 1 cup of water into a small pot and bring it to a boil.


5. Empty two packages of lemon Jell-O mix into a bowl and combine with your cup of boiling water. Stir to combine.


6. Add 1 cup of lemon vodka, 1/2 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of cold water to the Jell-O mixture. Stir to combine.


7. Place your lemon rind halves in your muffin tin and fill each with your lemon Jell-O mixture.


8. Place your muffin tin in your refrigerator and let it sit and solidify for about four hours.


9. Remove the lemon halves from the refrigerator after they have fully solidified. Remove the Jell-O from the tin and cut into inch-wide wedges. If you knife sticks as you cut them, it may be best to heat the blade periodically in hot water.


10. Pour 1/2 cup of sugar on a plate and dip each side of each wedge in it. Serve immediately or refrigerate until you are ready.
